Congratulations Wende, you are our March Athlete of the Month!
Congratulations Wende, you are our March Athlete of the Month!

Wende is Sam's mom, so this is extra special for her :) At 68 years young, she has, of course, been a part of the NoCoast Community since it started, but has been a more steady presence in classes since 2020. A lifelong lover of biking, skiing, and all things active, she found a passion in CrossFit through her daughter - and, drawn to the teamwork, challenge and fun of pushing toward shared goals. From Memorial Day workouts to nutrition wins, she’s grown stronger and more confident each year. Her advice? Just start, modify as needed, and keep showing up — you’ll be supported every step of the way.

Sam has admitted, it is easy to "overlook" how incredible Wende is since she is her mom and what she is simply used to . . . but, at 68, she is nothing short of amazing! Her movement, fitness, health and attitude in the gym are nothing like an average 68 year old. It was time to stop overlooking and give her the credit and admiration she deserves. We are so incredibly proud of you, your goal of longevity and continued health and fitness, and the inspiration you are to all. Everyone is amazed by you, as they should be :)

Keep it up, Mom!!

I am 68 years young!

I have been around since the beginning, but much more consistently since 2020 I guess.

I have always loved exercise in the form of sports like bike riding, skiing, hiking, or anything else I’d like to try. But fitness training not so much until NoCoast! I enjoy everyone working together for a common workout and goal. So much more fun this way!

I enjoy AMRAPs that include box jumps, wall ball, sprints, kettle bells, and others. Even burpees!

It’s probably easier to say I don’t enjoy overhead squats! And that bike! It’s tough to keep moving on that!

I think one of the most memorable moments are the Memorial Day workouts! Long but fun!

I have become a lot more conscious of good nutrition through the NoCoast challenges. I can definitely feel the difference when I have no sugar and eat good foods!

NoCoast has definitely improved my overall wellness! I’m still able to do the sports I like and feel comfortable and strong doing them! I feel much stronger and hope my bones have gotten stronger in the process! Osteoporosis is definitely a thing at my age!

I love that fitness and NoCoast is something that’s enjoyable for our whole family and we all like to keep fit!

I would tell new people that you can do it and you can always modify any workout to better suit your needs till you get stronger, and you will! Just keep coming, it’s fun, and you’ll be supported along the way!

Thanks to everyone for supporting me on my fitness journey! You’re all so kind!
